Application

1. Step: Interested students have to be nominated by their home university via incomings(at)ph-ludwigsburg.de until December 1st for the upcoming summer semester respectively May 1st for the upcoming winter semester. Free mover, whose home university are not a LUE partner, can contact us directly.

2. Step: The registration and application then proceed online via MoveOn. A link with information how to register will be sent to the nominated students.

3. Step: Students who submit their complete application until December 15th for the upcpoming summer semester respectively May 15th for the upcoming winter semester will be admitted and receive a Letter of Acceptance as well as further information on their stay abroad shortly after.

4. Step: Erasmus+ exchange students who are coming to LUE have to complete the Online Learning Agreement (instructions).

In order to be nominated:

• You must be enrolled as a student at one of our partner universities.
• Existence of a valid agreement between the home university and LUE. Requests of free movers (whose home university is not a partner university of LUE) are also considered.
• Required language skills: German at least level B1.2 and/or English level B2 (to be officially documented upon request).

During your stay:

• Having health insurance is obligatory for the enrolment at the university. European students can use their EHIC, students from outside of Europe can take out an insurance during the orientation days.
• Paying the semester fee (social fee for cheaper Mensa food, consulting services etc., no tuition fee!) of currently approx. 100 EUR for exchange students from our partnr universities and approx. 190 EUR for free mover.
• Required ECTS:
  We expect you to study full-time, that means to take courses with at least 20 ECTS per semester.
  Please also note the following:
  • Erasmus+ students please check the regulations for the ECTS of their home university.
  • Students who receive a scholarship from LUE are required to earn at least 20 ECTS.

*The lecture period is a little shorter and varies from year to year.

Normally, the lecture period in the winter semester starts in the middle of October and ends in the beginning of February. There is a short winter break without lectures between Christmas and January 6th. The examination weeks take place from the beginning to the middle of February.

After a short spring break, the lecture period in the summer semester starts approx. in the middle of April and ends in the end of July. There is an excursion week after Whitsunday where no lectures are held. The examination weeks take place from the beginning to the middle of August.

IMPORTANT:

Before the lecture period of each semester starts, a mandatory (free) welcome programme, takes place for all international students.
