Zehn „Image Makers“ aus aller Welt beteiligen sich an einem visuell-künstlerischen Dialog, aus dem eine Bilderkette hervorgeht. Die Idee ist, dass jeder beteiligte Künstler mit seiner Bildgestaltung auf ein Bild eines anderen Künstlers antwortet. Die Identität der Künstler wird nicht veröffentlicht, auch nicht gegenüber den anderen Künstlern. So können sich die Künstler nur auf das Bild konzentrieren, das sie erhalten, und ihre Antwort auf diese spezifische visuelle Botschaft ihres unbekannten Kollegen erarbeiten. Sie können wählen, welche Technik(en) sie verwenden und welche Art von Antwort sie mit ihrem Bild formulieren wollen: eine Fortsetzung, ein Dissens, eine Frage, eine Antwort, eine Entwicklung usw. Die einzige Bedingung ist, dass sie wirklich auf das spezifische Bild reagieren, das sie erhalten, mit seinen spezifischen Farben, Formen und Inhalten – soweit sie es verstehen. Das Ergebnis dieser imaginären Kommunikation wird in der Ausstellung als Bilderkette präsentiert.
Ten “image makers” from all over the world participate in a visual-artistic dialogue from which an image chain emerges. The idea is, that each participating artist reply with his or her image-making to an image produced by another artist. The identity of the artists will not be published, not even to the other artists. So the artists can only focus on the image they will receive and elaborate their reply to that specific visual message of their unknown college. They can choose the technique(s) as well as the kind of their reply they want to formulate with their image: a continuation, a dissent, a question, an answer, a development, etc. The only condition is, that they really reply to that specific image they will receive, with its specific colors, shapes and its content – as far as they understand it. The result of this imaginal communication will be presented in the exhibition as an image chain.
