The research project mentioned in the headline is organized by the IDEN Team at the Institute for Educational Management.
The research project Perspective of University Lecturers Concerning the Didactic Concept of Flipped Classroom is a cooperation between the University of North Carolina in Charlotte (USA) and the University of Education Ludwigsburg.
The goal of the research project is to identify the reasons for the (non-) use of Flipped Classroom for university lecturers at he University of North Carolina in Charlotte and the University of Education Ludwigsburg and which recommendations for the use of Flipped Classroom can be developed as supportive measures.
The project is split into two phases. The first phase in the project serves to generate an overview of the use of Flipped Classroom. Reasons for - but also against - the use of Flipped Classroom will be collected and factors will be identified that play a role in the decision for or against Flipped Classroom for lecturers at the two institutions. In this phase we work with a questionnaire.
Following this, in a second phase, the focus will be placed on the subjective opinions and assumptions of the lecturers in order to better understand and reconstruct the reasons from phase 1. Here we work with expert interviews and speak with the lecturers.
Furthermore, the findings will be used to define operational activities to support (in a better way) lecturers who want to implement Flipped Classroom. In both phases, the results will be interpreted with regard to the conditions and requirements at the particular institution as well as compared between the institutions.
The project is currently planned to run until the end of 2023.
